"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better." Ephesians 1:17 (NIV)

Isaiah 40:8

"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word
of our God stands forever." (NIV)

"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word
of our God shall stand for ever." (KJV)

We are just like the flowers and grass. Our energy, power,
accomplishments, and hopes will fade away. They are all
temporary and, at best, useful in this time and place only.
God's mighty power and His word are eternal: past, present,
and future. All His promises will be accomplished. In spite
of all the changes in the universe, the world governments,
and the plans of man, God remains the same.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember that our own
agendas are but fleeting blooms that wilt and wither after
a short time. Help us to understand that You are the only
One who never changes and Your Word is eternal. We
pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
