LIVE BY THE SPIRIT

As Christians, we fight a battle between
our own human natures (which are
sinful) and the Holy Spirit that lives in
us. We have to consciously and constantly
listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His
leading. If we don't, our human nature
will lead us to things that destroy our
Christian walk.

Heavenly Father, we humbly ask for
strength, wisdom, and discernment to
follow the leading of your Holy Spirit
so that we will not sin against you. In
Jesus' name.

Read Galatians 5:16

"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will
not gratify the desires of the sinful
 nature." (NIV)

"This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and
ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.'
(KJV)

(Sorry, I hit the publish button before I finished my thoughts.)

Lately, I've been reading Galatians 5 about the fruit of the Spirit - seeking to have a greater understanding of this passage. I enjoyed your post - good food for thought.
