WE ARE READY FOR GOD TO WIN

Proverbs 21:31

"The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord." ESV

We are told by God to be ready, to be prepared, and to be alert to defeat the enemy. We are to be ready. It is the Lord that will defeat the enemy by His mighty power through us.

Lord, we need Your help to be prepared to face the trials and attacks of the enemy that will surely occur in this life. May we always remember that we cannot be victorious without You going with us. In Your name we pray, Amen.

WHAT KIND OF ROCK IS THAT?

Matthew 16:18

"And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build by church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." ESV

What is this rock on which Jesus Christ builds His Church? It wasn't on the man Peter, but on what Peter responded to Jesus' question to him, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." v.16. If we have this same faith Peter had, we have the knowledge of the power of the sovereignty of God. We will conquer death, hell, and the grave as Jesus did. And together, united as one on the Rock, we will bring others to this saving grace and we will trample down the very gates of hell.

Lord, we worship You and give You praise for coming to this earth so that we would know the Truth. Oh, how we need Your grace to live in this power and victory as Your Church. Help us to stand on the rock, make our every conscious thought remember who we are in You, and give us victory over the attacks of evil. In Your gracious name we pray, Amen.

LIVING ABOVE IT ALL

1 Corinthians 15:57

"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." ESV

We live in a cursed world. We encounter difficulties and trials every day. At times, we get so overwhelmed by it all that we feel ready to just throw in the towel. But, isn't it energizing to know that Jesus Christ has every facet of our lives under control and will provide all we need to stay victorious over it all. If we think about that when we get to the end of our rope, we will never be defeated.

Lord, we praise You for providing our every need to have victory in this dangerous and difficult world. Help us to remember that You are in control and we don't have to fret about things working out. We pray in Your name, Amen.

NO LOSING WTIH GOD

Psalm 60:12

"With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes." ESV

There is no peace, no overcoming our trials and tribulations in life without the grace and mercy of God. The battle is His. If we let go and allow Him to have charge of our lives, He will destroy every evil that tries to get in the way of our journey toward Him.

Heavenly Father, we confess that we take matters into our own hands when difficult times come our way. We somehow think we can take care of things. Most often, the trials are far greater than we are. Help us to put our faith totally in You, knowing in our hearts that You will lead us to victory in all things. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

OVERCOMING

1 John 5:4

"For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." NIV

"For whosoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." KJV

The natural man works to overcome the world by common sense, learned behavior, and knowledge gained from the world. Sometimes this works, but for the most part it is temporary and incomplete at best. True faith in the Son of God by salvation in Christ will provide us with all we need to overcome the obstacles in this world. Without faith, we cannot be successful overcomers.

Heavenly Father, how we stand humble before you that we have tried to defeat the trials in this world by our own strength. Forgive us. Help us to use the faith You have lavishly supplied to us so that we can overcome this world as You did. We praise You and thank You for the gift of faith and overcoming power. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

ROYAL CROWN COMMITMENT

2 Timothy 2:5

"Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor's crown except by competing according to the rules." NIV

"And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully." KJV

We are aware of many well known champion athletes who have been disqualified from their rewards because they chose to go against the rules and use performing enhancement drugs. It is so tempting to take the shortcuts, the quickest, easiest way, the way of least resistance. In our journey through this world as Christians, there are no shortcuts. Yet, the enemy places so many "easy way" tactics in front of us, like a street vendor frantically trying to sell us his wares. There is a royal crown of victory waiting for us in our Master's hands, if we keep on our journey, going along the narrow path that He has laid out for us.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for trying to find ways to appear Christlike and make others believe we are mature Christians when we are not. Have mercy on us when we allow ourselves to be deceived by the evil one and follow side paths off the one You chose for us. Keep us focused on the finish line - being in the eternal presence of our Lord and Saviour. In His name we pray, Amen.

GOD'S GRACE

To have the shield of God's divine protection, His salvation,
is to be safe in His care through all trials and tribulations.
Our God gives us power and courage to stand strong in the
face of danger. There is nothing we have done to deserve
this kind and generous favor of God in our lives. It is only
because of His great love and grace toward us.

Heavenly Father, we can never earn or deserve the favor You
lavish on us. We can only offer our lives to you as witnesses
of your mercy and grace. In Jesus' name.

Read Psalm 18:35

"You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains
me; you stoop down to make me great." (NIV)

"Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right
hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great."
(KJV)

WE'RE IN GOOD HANDS

In this day and age we often feel we are in a barren and dry place. Trouble
and uncertainty are all around us and we can get quite overwhelmed. Take
heart! God is right beside us, guiding us, and giving us everything we need
to make it through.

Read Isaiah 58:11

"The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun
scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well
watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." (NIV)

"And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in
drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered
garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not." (KJV)

NO LOSING WITH GOD

There is no peace or overcoming our trials and tribulations of life
without the grace and mercy of God. The battle is His. If we let go
and allow Him to have charge of our lives, He will demolish every
evil that tries to get in the way of our journey toward Him.

Read Psalm 60:12

"With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our
enemies." (NIV)

"Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down
our enemies." (KJV)

LORD OUR REFUGE

Seeking refuge in the Lord in troubled times is wise. This does not
mean we are running away from our problems and troubles. It means
we are in His hands where He can lift our spirit above our problems
and troubles so they do not overcome us. No one can tell us to run
from our enemies when we are in His hands.

Read Psalm 11:1

"In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: 'Flee like a
bird to your Mountain.'" (NIV)

"In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird
to your mountain?" (KJV)

VICTORY WITH GOD

We can be totally confident that our God will bring us to full
relationship with Himself and eternal life where the enemy can
never reach us again.

Read Psalm 60:12

"With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down
our enemies." (NIV)

"Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread
down our enemies." (KJV)

LOOK UP

Because we live in the now and there are many things that grab our attention, it is easy to lose sight of the things that will matter for all eternity. If we keep our minds on eternal things, the distractions of this temporary world will not only pale in comparison, but will take their rightful place in God's eternal plan. This will give us peace and tolerance as we walk through this life.

Read Colossians 3:2

"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (NIV)

"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." (KJV)

MY REDEEMER

We know the our God is, was, and always will be. Time does not hold
Him captive, because He is eternal. But for us who are confined to time,
we can be at peace with the knowledge that He has defeated sin and
will stand victoriously on this earth.

Read Job 19:25

"I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will
stand upon the earth." (NIV)

"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand
at the latter day upon the earth." (KJV)
