NO SPARING THE ROD

Psalm 23:4

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." ESV

As His sheep, we may sometimes cringe when the Lord disciplines us or is getting us out of desperate situations. When He uses His rod and staff to help us or get us back on track, it can be quite painful and leave bruises on our spirit. However, at the same time, we can be relieved to know He rescues of from danger. We may be battered and bruised, but we are always safe in the arms of our Savior.

Lord, all thanks and glory to You for Your rod and staff. They keep us within the boundaries of Your protection, of Your kingdom, and in the safety of Your arms. What a wonderful Shepherd You are! In Your loving name we pray, Amen.
