WHO TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR US?

 

 

Romans 14:12

 

 

"So then each of us will give an account of himself to God." ESV

 

 

 

There are dozens of ways we can put the blame for what we have done on other people, circumstances, or something we just make up in our heads. The truth is, we can excuse and rationalize our thoughts, feelings, and actions all we want, but we will be totally responsible for them to God, no excuses.

 

Heavenly Father, reveal to us each time we try to shift the responsibility for ourselves to some other source. Search our hearts for excuses and logic that prevent us from taking ownership of all we do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

GOD'S EYES ARE ON YOU

 

 

Hebrews 4:13

"And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account." ESV

Every person will have to give an account to the living God, both those who believe and those who don't. All actions, thoughts, and secrets are intimately know by Him. Doesn't it seem like a wise thing to make sure all our actions, thoughts, and secrets are brought to Him and covered by His blood?

Heavenly Father, search our innermost being and whatever You find there that is displeasing to You, help us to confess it, repent, and live our lives as Christ did. We pray in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

SO WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR ME?

Romans 14:12   "So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God." NIV   "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." KJV   Don't we often find ourselves looking at what others are doing and feel we need to set them straight and stop doing things the wrong way? Don't we have a tendency to try to fix things that we believe are wrong in someone else's life? If we are truly open to the Holy Spirit, we will understand and look at ourselves and what we need to be doing. We are not responsible for anyone's life but our own. Parents, you are responsible for your children as long as they live under your roof. For them, you will give account. We certainly don't want to stand before the Lord, humiliated that we cannot give account for our own lives.   Heavenly Father, forgive us for trying to be responsible and fixing others. Give us the courage to look deep within ourselves and recognize that all we think, say, and do will be laid out before You. And, we must give an account. WHO'S READY FOR MEAT?

 

Hebrews 5:14

"But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil." NIV

"But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." KJV

The natural order of growth for human development is to steadily gain in height and weight while at the same time learning different things. It takes food that is appropriate for age and advancement of the child. The same hold true for the born again children of God. Many Christians accept the Lord Jesus as their Saviour but they fail to get into the Word of God and make it a part of their everyday lives and they fail to faithfully commune with Him on a daily basis. They are not able to spiritually chew and digest the deep things of God, only the milk and elementary things of God. The answer is to take responsibility for working out our salvation, for hiding the Word in our heart, and growing up in Him.

Heavenly Father, we stand in need of Your grace and mercy as we work out our salvation in the way You intended. Help us to receiveYour Word and by it grow into mature Christians. Show us the way and give us the desire to grow and surrender so that we will be ready for spiritual meat, the deep things of Your kingdom. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

WE'LL ALL GIVE AN ACCOUNT

 

Romans 14:12

There are times when we find that we blame someone or something outside of ourselves for our acting ungodly. That's human nature. As Christians, we have put off the old nature and put on the nature of God. Therefore, we take responsibility for our actions no matter what. The Bible tells us there is nothing outside of us that makes us act un ungodly ways. The ungodliness was already residing in us waiting for an excuse to come out.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for not taking responsibility for our own actions. Help us to remember that we will all stand before You and give an account for all that we have thought, said, and done that has not been covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. May we live holy lives in Your presence, in Christ's name we pray, Amen.

KEEP YOUR GIFT ALIVE

We have all been given a gift from God, to be used for His
glory and His purpose. It is our responsibility to maintain
the freshness and readiness of our gift by feeding it through
close communion with Him and with other believers. Then,
when God presents the opportunity for us to use our gift, it
will be ready and useful.

Read 2 Itmothy 1:6

"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God,
which is in you through the laying on of my hands." (NIV)
