CARRYING BURDENS

 

Galatians 6:2

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."NIV

"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."KJV

How can we help others with their problems when we have our own with which to contend? Yet, we are told to help others with their burdens. The Lord doesn't ask us to do anything that He doesn't give us the grace and power to do. If we love God with all of our being and we love others as we love ourselves, we will be able to come alongside and help others with their burdens. That is fulfillment of what Christ said are the greatest commandments.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for getting so caught up in our own lives and issues that we walk past those who are so burdened they cannot move forward. Give us hearts of love that we will fulfill Christ's law by giving of ourselves to our fellowmen when they are so burdened down. We pray in His precious name, Amen.

KEEP YOUR GIFT ALIVE

We have all been given a gift from God, to be used for His
glory and His purpose. It is our responsibility to maintain
the freshness and readiness of our gift by feeding it through
close communion with Him and with other believers. Then,
when God presents the opportunity for us to use our gift, it
will be ready and useful.

ARE YOU IN DARKNESS?

We can claim to be a child of God, born again, holy, righteous,
and above reproach. But, if we are harboring resentment or ill
will toward another, we are not a part of God's Kingdom.

Read 1 John 2:9

"Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is
still in the Darkness." (NIV)

"He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in

UNEQUALLY YOKED

To be harnessed together with someone whose beliefs and life practices are in opposition to your own Christian beliefs and spiritual practices is sure disaster. The best that can be expected from this kind of committed relationship is antagonism, dissension, confusion, compromise, and and continual diversions
from the Truth. God's Word tells us not to enter in to a committed partnership with an unbeliever.

Read 2 Corinthians 6:14

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? (NIV)

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?" (KJV)
