Romans
14:12
"So then,
each of us will give an account of ourselves to God." NIV
"So then
every one of us shall give account of himself to God." KJV
Don't we often
find ourselves looking at what others are doing and feel we need to set them
straight and stop doing things the wrong way? Don't we have a tendency to try to
fix things that we believe are wrong in someone else's life? If we are truly
open to the Holy Spirit, we will understand and look at ourselves and what we
need to be doing. We are not responsible for anyone's life but our own. Parents,
you are responsible for your children as long as they live under your roof. For
them, you will give account. We certainly don't want to stand before the Lord,
humiliated that we cannot give account for our own lives.
Heavenly Father,
forgive us for trying to be responsible and fixing others. Give us the courage
to look deep within ourselves and recognize that all we think, say, and do will
be laid out before You. And, we must give an account. Help us Lord we pray in
Jesus' name, Amen.
