NO FRETTING ABOUT OUR PAST

Isaiah 43:18,19

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." NIV

"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."KJV

Many times we find ourselves thinking back on the mistakes and sins we committed in the past. God will take the blunders of our past and weave them perfectly into the tapestry of our lives. Why then, should we fret about our pasts? Yes, we may be sorry for the things we have done, but when we see what God has done and is doing with our mistakes, our shortcomings, and our outright rebellion, we will only be able to fall at His feet and praise Him for His unending love. Don't fret about the past, our God has taken care of it in the most wonderful and surprising ways, just as He is taking care of our present and future.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for dwelling on the things in our lives that we regret or that make us ashamed. Give us courage to look ahead at the way You have made our whole lives come together in a beautiful work of art that brings glory to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
