Philippians 4:13

"I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." NIV

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." KJV

As Christians, we maintain that we can accomplish anything with God's help. The problem is, we don't put that belief into action. Somehow we are waiting for God to make the situation just right, or to take the first move, or to get everything set in order so all we have to is go in and claim victory. We don't have to wait for the Lord to accomplish what He has given us the strength to do. He expects us to step out in faith and trust Him for the victory.

Heavenly Father, please forgive us for believing in our mind only and not in our actions. Help us to accept the power You freely give us to accomplish Your will in our own lives. Give us courage to step out and trust in the power You have given us. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

I think you are right - It's too easy to expect God to fix things for us without us having to get out of our comfort zone and step out in faith. I know I am guilty of this too often.
