FAITH NOT SIGHT

2 Corinthians 5:7

"We live by faith, not by sight." NIV

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." KJV

As humans, God has designed us to live and survive this world with five senses. They let us know how to interpret our world around us and what we need to do that is best for our lives here. As Christians, we are free to use our senses second and our Spirit given faith first. To use our physical senses is wise in some ways and could be spiritually deadly in others. There is always a way that "seems" right, but the outcome would be disastrous if we do not listen to the Holy Spirit and follow in faith that He knows what is best for us. Remember, as Christians, we have turned authority of our lives over to the Lord.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for the many times we rely on our own human senses instead of our faith in You. Show us Lord, when we fail to use our faith so that we can repent and do what is right in Your eyes. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

I love this verse. It is the crux of our belief.

This is an interesting perspective. And for the physical senses, it's interesting how if you lose one of them other ones are heightened to compensate. For sure faith and our spiritual senses are much more important and reliable.
Thank you for sharing your insight with us.
Blessings,
Charlotte
