THINK ON THESE THINGS

Philippians 4:8


"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." NIV

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." KJV

It is amazing how often we allow our circumstances to control our emotions. If things are going well, we tend to be happy and satisfied. If things are going wrong and difficult things come our way, we become fearful, discouraged, and down. As long as we let things that are happening to us and around us affect how we feel, our lives will be like a roller coaster. If we want true abiding joy that nothing can take from us, we will keep our minds on the good things of God. It's the things we think about that determine how we feel.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for letting the events in our lives determine how we will feel. We know the world is watching how we respond to difficult things in our lives. Help us to always put our burdens in Your hands and think on Your goodness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Sadly, most people like to stay on the emotional roller coaster. It gives them something to complain about.
