Psalm 23:4b
" . . . . Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." NIV
" . . . . Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me." KJV
As His sheep, we are likely to cringe at the sight of our Lord's rod and staff coming toward us to pull us out of the mud pit. It will be painful and may even break a bone or bruise us. But we are, at the same time, relieved to be rescued from danger. We may be battered and bruised, but we are now safe in the arms of our Great Shepherd.
Heavenly Father, we thank you and praise you for your rod and staff, that keeps us within the boundaries of your kingdom, pulls us away from danger, and keeps us safe. Please help us to let the bumps and bruises remind of what a wonderful and loving Shepherd you are. In Jesus' name. Amen.

While I walk through the valley of death I praise the Lord daily for His protection and love. This Psalm has so much power to it when we are hurting. Just knowing that our Lord is with us is such comfort. God bless you Bobbi for reminding us of His love. God bless, Lloyd
