GENTLE OR HARSH WORDS

We've all had someone who has been angry at us and
began speaking in a loud, unpleasant voice. Our first
reaction is to get angry ourselves that they would treat
us that way. Then we want to say something just as loud
and hurtful right back at them. That's the way of human
nature. As Children of God, we are no longer bound to
our human nature and we can freely respond to such anger
with gentleness. It is amazing how this calms down the
angry person. God's way works best.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times we have gotten
caught in the anger of the moment and followed our old
human nature. Help us to remember we are not bound to
that way of responding anymore and we can reply to
anger in a gently Godly way. In Jesus' name.

Read Proverbs 15:1

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs
up anger." (NIV)

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words
stir up anger." (KJV)

Joyce Meyer says this all the time, and it's true: words are containers of power! I like your blog!
