encourage reading and understanding of God's Word.

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better." Ephesians 1:17 (NIV)

SPIRIT INSPIRED TRUTH

Many stand ready to give us their beliefs and opinions.
And many will pay money and drive long distances to
hear them. True men and women of God do not speak
of their own beliefs and opinions, but they speak the
words that the Holy Spirit puts within them. Some of
those words will bring joy and comfort, but some of
the words will sting and bring conviction. Those who do
not really want to know the truth will close their ears
and walk away, just as they did when Jesus spoke the
truth he heard from the Father.

Heavenly Father, we know that we live in a world that
craves words that create feelings of self-satisfaction.
Help us to recognize those people who say they are
proclaiming your word, but are only saying what they
feel will appeal to the hearers. We long for your truth.
In Jesus' name.

Read 2 Peter 1:21

"For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but
men spoke from God as they were carried along by the
Holy Spirit." (NIV)

"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the
Holy Ghost." (NIV)
