THE ECONOMICS OF WATCHING AND WALKING

Ephesians 5:15,16 "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil." ESV

Who would disagree that we live in evil times? We are warned in God's Word that we are to stop living like we don't believe He is coming now! The time is coming when we will be persecuted for even showing a hint that we belong to Christ. If we take the opportunity to shine His light now, and stop playing around, we will be able to stand before Him with crowns to lay at His feet.

Heavenly Father, please make us aware of the crucial importance of shining Your light now, while we have the opportunity. Let us be found doing Your work when You come to get us. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

POWER OF WORDS

Proverbs 12:18

"There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." ESV

What kind of words to we speak that others hear? Do we thoughtlessly talk negatively about others, criticizing, and even crushing their integrity? This kind of talk is no better than driving a knife through someone's heart. Being wise with our words will produce encouragement, protection, and healing to others. Our God honors this kind of talk.

Heavenly Father, we ask for wisdom when we speak so that we will build up and encourage and not cause pain and tarnish the character of others. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

WALKING PARTNERS

Proverbs 13:20

"Whoever walks with the wise, becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." ESV

To walk with someone is so much more than an occasional stroll. It is to spend time with, be attached to, and take on the ways of those with whom we walk. We become like them. As Christians, we are around people of all kinds, but we watchfully and carefully choose with whom we walk.

Heavenly Father, we stand in need of discernment so that we will walk with those who will bring us closer to you, and to still be able to witness and to be living testimonies to those who may not be good for us be like. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

STUMBLING IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD

Hosea 14:9

"Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them." ESV

God reveals His ways to His children through the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we know the road is narrow and difficult. In order to keep going in His ways, we must fan the flames of our faith, study the Word, and stay in communion with Him. We put on His armor and we keep ourselves in condition for the difficulties that lie ahead. Non-believers cannot know the things of God; therefore, they stumble and fall off the narrow path. They are trying to live Godly, but they are in the dark and they have no Spirit supplied assistance to successfully keep on going.

Heavenly Father, what an awesome God You are that You would give us all we need to walk in Your ways while we live in this world. When we see others stumbling, give us hearts of compassion and lift up Jesus Christ to them so that they might accept Him and be able to walk in Your ways. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
