HE IS ABLE, ARE WE WILLING

 

 

Jude 24

 

 

"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy." ESV

 

Will we stumble in our Christian walk? We will. Will we fall to the ground or will we allow the Lord to hold us up? We do not become Godly robots when we are born again. Our brains and our own desires are not replaced with a Godly remote control, so that we just go along in the world with no care of what happens because God has the controller in His hands. God tells us repeatedly in His Word, if we obey, if we stand firm, if we put on the armor, if we endure, if we stir up our faith, we will win the crown of eternal life Jesus Christ paid for with His own blood. He gives the promise, we choose to accept it by faith. Faith without works is dead.

 

 

Heavenly Father, we do not take Your great and precious promise of eternal life half heartedly. Forgive us for being spiritually lazy and thinking that we can hold on to our own selfish ways. Put increasing hunger in our hearts to fight the good fight, understand we are in a spiritual battle, and need to respond to the call to stand strong and endure by faith in Christ. In His name we pray, Amen.

STUMBLING IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD

Hosea 14:9   "Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them." ESV   God reveals His ways to His children through the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we know the road is narrow and difficult. In order to keep going in His ways, we must fan the flames of our faith, study the Word, and stay in communion with Him. We put on His armor and we keep ourselves in condition for the difficulties that lie ahead. Non-believers cannot know the things of God; therefore, they stumble and fall off the narrow path. They are trying to live Godly, but they are in the dark and they have no Spirit supplied assistance to successfully keep on going.   Heavenly Father, what an awesome God You are that You would give us all we need to walk in Your ways while we live in this world. When we see others stumbling, give us hearts of compassion and lift up Jesus Christ to them so that they might accept Him and be able to walk in Your ways. RISING AND FALLING

 

 

Proverbs 24:16

"For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity." ESV

Just because a person is righteous before God does not mean there will never be times of failure and defeat. The difference between the righteous children of God and the ungodly is the faith of the righteous will cause them to get up, repent, and keep running the race. Those who do not know that faith will crumble under the strain of defeat.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for being so quick to give up, to be defeated when we fail. We pray that You will help us to use the faith and perseverance You have so freely given us so that we will get up and try again no matter how many times we fail. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
