BREATH OF GOD

 

 

2 Timothy 3:16

 

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, and for correction, and for training in righteousness." ESV

 

 

The words of Scripture came from the very breathe of God. They are the Creator of the universe speaking to us. From His words we learn what we are to believe, to know the Truth, to correct the things in our lives that hinder our walk with Him, and to teach others about Him. The Word of God is our life manual.

 

Heavenly Father, we praise You and thank You for giving us Your Word, so that we can have direction for our lives and be equipped to teach others to trust in Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.

USE A MAGNFYING GLASS

 

 

1 Timothy 4:16

"Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers." ESV

It is way too easy to let up our guard and when we do, we become vulnerable, opening ourselves up to worldly thoughts and ways. This way of the world seems so right at the time, but it definitely isn't. It weakens our spiritual lives, making us ineffective in our testimony, and losing that anointing that drew others to Christ through us. That's why we are strongly warned to keep a close watch, using our spiritual magnifying glasses, so we will stay strong, persistent, and influencing others to do the same.

Heavenly Father, You know we are but dust. We sleep when You tell us to be alert. Forgive us for letting down our guard and letting ourselves become open to the evils of this world. We ask for a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit and the hunger to stay focused on the things that are eternal. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

WATER FOUNTAIN

The living water Jesus gives to us is His Holy Spirit, the promise of eternal life. When Christ's Holy Spirit is living in our hearts, this living water will flow out of us as walk, speak, work, and live. It cannot be contained. If it is there, it will flow out and others will notice it. Is that what people notice when they are around you?

Read John 7:38

"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." (NIV)

"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." (KJV)

THE SOUL LIVES

Physical death is inescapable for all of us. But, thanks be to God,
He does not allow our soul to die. He provides the Way for all to be
united with Him forever.

Read 2 Samuel 14:14

"Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so
we must die. But God does not take away life; instead, he devises
ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him."

PEACE OF MIND

To be kept by God during difficult times and even good times is such a comfort. In His grace and mercy, He keeps us with more than adequate peace, it is with perfect peace. This is for those whose minds are supported by confidence and trust in Him at all times.

HIS TIME NOT OURS

God is not confined to and does not move in our system of time. Unfortunately
we are confined to time and we expect Him to be. Actually, God moves from the
unfolding of His eternal plan that gives you, me, and all who walk the earth, an
opportunity to change our ways and commit our lives to Him.

LIGHT TO SEE HIS GLORY

God spoke light into existence at the beginning of creation. He puts that same light into our hearts so that we can see the truth about Christ, who is the reflection of God's glory.

OBEDIENCE AND SACRIFICE

"When performing outward good works becomes more important than
the inward obedient attitude, God becomes displeased. It is a sacrifice
of time and energy to volunteer to clean the church, but it is a greater
spiritual work to bring all of your thoughts captive to Christ. Make this
more important in your life without neglecting the good works.

"Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in

I DIDN'T DO IT

Self satisfaction and pride in our abilities and accomplishments are an open door to rob and dethrone God of the honor He deserves. When we admire our selves, we create an idol in God's place. Remember, all we are and all we have is from Him.

God does not make all things good for us as believers. We still experience trials and sufferings.But he does make the things that we experience work together for our ultimate good. What is that ultimate good? That He will bring us to Himself a holy and righteous people.

RID OF THE OLD LIFE

The Word of God is clear about getting rid of all remnants of the old life.This includes attitudes of the heart, such as: unholy ill will, intentional dishonesty, false spiritual appearances, resentful jealousy, and malicious gossip. These things linger and will surface if we do not make a clean
break with out life as it was before we accepted Christ.

GOD'S MERCY

It is a wonderful thing that God waits on us to change our hearts from
living for ourselves to committing our lives for Him. He shows us such
mercy in His waiting so that we can receive His pure love and blessing.
When we truly understand this, we will lift His name up as never before.

SET FREE

We no longer live under the lawn that condemns us in our failings and

RESISTING EVIL

To be able to stand firm against the deceitful enemy and his attacks, we are to hold fast to our faith, which comes from hearing the Word and hiding it in our hearts. We are not alone in resisting evil. All Christians everywhere are experiencing the same struggles.

As Christians we are to always be watchful and on the alert to the deception that surrounds us with well hidden traps. The deceiver is the evil one and seeks to get us off the true path in these ways: Subtly, through our senses and thoughts; Masquerading as the truth with logical spiritual and religious philosophies; and, Forcefully, through tribulations and trials that discourage us and cause us to
question our Lord. Watch out for these traps, they are everywhere.
