I HAVE TO LOVE THEM?

 

 

Matthew 5:44,45

 

"But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." ESV

 

Jesus tells us that we are to imitate the love of God by showing the same love to our enemies. He showed His love to us when we were His enemies. He sends good and bad, sun and rain to every human whether they are Godly or not. We are called to be like Him.

 

Heavenly Father, only by your grace can we love those who are unlovable. We desire to be like you and accept Your grace to love everyone, good and bad. In Jesus' name, Amen.

NO GETTING EVEN?

 

 

Ezekiel 18:23

 

"Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?" ESV

 

If we are honest, there are times we feel a sense of satisfaction when those who have wronged us have to pay for what they did. But, God's heart is different. Although unrepentant people will be punished, He is truly satisfied when they turn from their selfish ways and humbly walk with Him.

 

Heavenly Father, we ask You to mold our hearts to be like Yours, so that we will rejoice when our enemies turn to You with repentance, and grief when they don't. In Jesus name, Amen.

LOVE PRAYS FOR ENEMIES

 

 

Acts 7:60

 

"And falling to his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, 'Lord, do not hold this sin against them.' And when he had said this, he fell asleep." ESV

 

 

 

How easy would it be for us to pray for someone who was harming us, slandering us, robbing us, plotting against us? In our human nature, it is impossible. But when we are following the Lord in the power of His Spirit, we can love our enemies and pray for them.

 

 

Heavenly Father, we fall so short of the sacrifice of praying for those who are against us. It is far easier for us to fight back, taking action to get them before they get us. We praise You for saving us and filling us with Your Holy Spirit, so that we can love those who hurt us and pray for You to forgive them. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

WHAT A PROMISE

 

 

Psalm 60:12

"With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes." ESV

It seems at times that we get discouraged and lose heart because of the way the world and its evil ways invade our lives. Our God provided the Way for us to survive this world and its evil. We can be completely confident that our God will bring us to a full relationship with Himself for eternity, where the enemy can never reach us again.

Heavenly Father, the only thing we have to give You for Your mercy and gift of eternal life, and that is ourselves. Help us to live with the confidence that will be a glorious testimony of Your promise to us. Let our souls be filled with joy in knowing that nothing evil will ever be able to get at us again. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

WEAR ALL THE ARMOR

As Christians, we all have spiritual battles to fight against the subtle traps, deceiving temptations, and outright devastating attacks of Satan. We can't be without the full protection God has provided for us or neglect to maintain and wear any part of His armor. We are to be alert and prepared for anything the enemy may use to hinder or destroy our Christian walk.

Read Ephesians 6:11

"Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. (NIV)

NO LOSING WITH GOD

There is no peace or overcoming our trials and tribulations of life
without the grace and mercy of God. The battle is His. If we let go
and allow Him to have charge of our lives, He will demolish every
evil that tries to get in the way of our journey toward Him.

LORD OUR REFUGE

Seeking refuge in the Lord in troubled times is wise. This does not
mean we are running away from our problems and troubles. It means
we are in His hands where He can lift our spirit above our problems
and troubles so they do not overcome us. No one can tell us to run
from our enemies when we are in His hands.

"In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: 'Flee like a
