WHICH WAY? THIS WAY!

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." ESV

Do we truly understand the love our God has for all mankind? His love does not recognize certain laws, traditions, and denominations. When Christ died on the cross, all the dividing walls were ripped from top to bottom. From that moment on, there are no longer any elite groups that have privilege to the throne of grace. There is only one group. That is the Bride of Christ, those who believe by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The world is a harvest field. If we try to win converts to our own brand of "religion," we fail to bring them to Christ. It is only through Him, that eternal life become ours.

Lord, we know that it all comes back to the cross, where You gave Your life for us. Help us to be aware of how we share this good news. Please check us in our hearts when we get off track, talking about doctrine and traditions. We praise You for Your precious grace and mercy You freely offered us through Your suffering, death, and resurrection. In Your name we pray, Amen.

REFLECTING LIGHT

1 John 1:7

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin." ESV

The true Christian journey takes us to increasing light of the knowledge of God. We all walk in different amounts of light, but, nevertheless, we walk holy and completely in the light we have. God is Light. If we are walking in Light, together we are joined with one another to Him. We will resemble Him and we will have one purpose, that is, to reflect Him, bringing Him glory. We are fully able to do this because of the blood of Jesus Christ.

Lord, thank You for being the Way for us to be able to walk in Your Light. Help us to walk worthy and to walk closer to Your Light so that we will reflect Your glory, drawing others to You. In Your name we pray, Amen.

SOMETHING SOLID TO STAND ON

1 Corinthians 3:11

"For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." ESV

A foundation is the base on which everything else stands. As Christians, our foundation is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Everything we do must come from this foundation. We are to stand on it, build on it, and grow from it. Allowing personal ideas and philosophies of the world to enter in to our building of faith is destructive and will not stand up under the hand of God.

Heavenly Father, we confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Help us to be alert and watch every thing we add to the foundation of our lives. Show us when we are adding our own ideas or those of others. Keep us focused on You so that our foundation does not become weak. Help us to hunger for You and Your Word so that we will build on Jesus Christ alone. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

THE SAME SAME SAME

Hebrews 13:8

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever." ESV

In this world, the only thing that is constant is change. Flowers fade, seasons change, people come and go, and our health takes unpredictable turns. Technology changes so fast, some of us cannot keep up. However, there is One, Jesus Christ our Lord, who has never changed, who is not changing, and who will never change. We can stake our lives on it.

Heavenly Father, it is so hard for us to hold fast in faith because the world around us is so unpredictable. Forgive us when we begin to believe that You are unpredictable too. Increase our faith as we walk through this ever changing world and give us confidence that You will never forsake us and that You will bring us home on that day. In the precious name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

SEE JESUS AND YOU'VE SEEN THE FATHER

Hebrews 1:3

"He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high." ESV

In early times, God spoke to His people through the prophets, men chosen and anointed to speak His truth. Jesus Christ was far superior to the prophets because He is the perfect representative of God the Father. Our God sent His Son to represent Himself so that we might know Him and become like Him. Jesus Christ successfully and completely accomplished the Father's plan to reconcile us to Himself. We have no excuse for failing to live as Jesus did. The more we know Christ and how He lived, the more we know the Father.

Heavenly Father, how we praise You for giving us the Model of how we are to live our lives here. We thank You for Jesus Christ, who is Your exact likeness. Help us to seek Him so that we will know You. In His name we pray, Amen.

TO US

Luke 2:11

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." NIV

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." KJV

Those many years ago, our Saviour was born, just as the prophets spoke and wrote down for us. The birth of Jesus, the Christ, brought to us joy, peace, and eternal life. And, He will reign and rule forever. Praise the Lord!

Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest Gift of all, Your Son, Jesus Christ. And thank You for this Plan to bring us back into full relationship with You. We thank You for the joy, peace, and eternal life this brings to us. In His name we pray, Amen.

TOO MUCH TO TELL

John 21:25

"Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written." NIV

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written." KJV

It's such an exciting thing to tell others about our wonderful experiences and travels. We can take pictures and tell of the events surrounding those pictures. We can recall the many things we did and the things we saw. However, we cannot reveal enough about the experiences to include every thing that took place. There is just too much to tell, to many things that took place. We try to hit the highlights, but all things were wonderful to us at the time we were there. The apostle John felt the same way about writing down the things he witnessed while walking with Jesus Christ. Someday we will know all the things our Lord did while here on earth. We will be amazed. But for now, we have all we need to know that Jesus Christ is Lord of all.

Heavenly Father, we give You praise and glory for the awesome God You are. We only have a glimpse at Your power and majesty. Help us to take time each day to enter into the quiet place with You so that we will know You better, until we see You face to face and know all things. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

WE CAN ONLY SEE THE LIGHT

John 8:12

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." NIV

"I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." KJV

Just about everyone understands that when there is no light in an area, it is dark and seeing is difficult if not impossible. That is an elementary concept even children understand. Why is it that many people do not understand that we need spiritual light to see what is around us and where we are going? We use the sun and artificial light without giving it a second thought. But so many try getting through life using their own limited knowledge, following close to others, or just taking risks that sound like the best option. These people are in darkness. They cannot see what they are doing, where they are, or where they are going. They need Jesus, the Light of the world.

Heavenly Father, how thankful we are that Your Son came to earth to be the Light we need to travel through this dark world. Help us to be aware that others are still stumbling around in spiritual darkness and let us be lights that shine the truth of Jesus Christ to them. In His name we pray, Amen.

TRUE ABUNDANCE

John 10:10

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."NIV

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."KJV

The life of this world and the life God gives are totally different. Anything we obtain from this world is wide open for destruction by the enemy, whether it be material or plans of the mind. Only those things that are brought to the cross of Christ and are according to His plan are safe from the destroyer and will result in true joy and eternal abundance.

Heavenly Father, we get so distracted by the things of this world and by wanting what others have. Forgive us for getting our minds on the things of this world that are temporary. Help us to look to the things of God and build our lives on those things because they will last throughout eternity. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

He did it! He lived a life without sin. He showed us the way
to the Father. He fulfilled the purpose He came to do. He gave
His life by dying in the most terrible and degrading way. He gave
it all. And He conquered it! It is done. It is finished. He is alive
and we are set free from sin. Hallejuah!

Read Matthew 28: 5,6

"The angel said to the woman, 'Do not be afraid for I know that
you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He
has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where he lay."
(NIV)

"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye:
for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here:
for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
(KJV)

KNOW IN WHOM YOU BELIEVE

The Lord told us that if we are Christians, there will be suffering because of our faith. There is no shame in this suffering, only joy in suffering for Him. The suffering is temporary. We trust that the Lord will keep us in His hands until that day when we are with Him in eternity.

Read 2 Itmothy 1:12

"That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day." (NIV)

"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." (KJV)

GIVING ALL

It is such an amazing thing when we get hold of the fact that
the Son of God actually left His throne in Heaven and became a
human being. Even more amazing, He gave all He had, Himself,
because of His love, mercy, and grace that would show us the
Way to the One true God. When we take time to dwell on that, it
seems like such a small thing that we would turn our total selves
over to Him. But, that is all we have to give Him.

Read John 1:14

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have
seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the
Father, full of grace and truth." (NIV)

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father)
full of grace and truth." (KJV)

JESUS CHANGES NOT

In this world, the only thing that is constant is change. Flowers fade,
seasons change, people come and go, and our health takes unpredictable
turns. Technology is changing so fast, very few can keep up. However,
there is One who has never changed, who is not changing, and who will
never change. You can stake your life on it.

Read Hebrews 13:8

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." (NIV)

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (KJV)

HIS WAY IS EASIER

In contrast to the religiosity of the Scribes and Pharisees, the way of
the spiritual life Jesus lived and taught us is much less cumbersome
and bound by traditions. His way is mild and gentle. Jesus showed us
by His life that He was not stern, overbearing, or oppressive. It is in
freedom that we walk as He did, not in obligation and oppression.

Read Matthew 11:29

"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble
in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (NIV)

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly
in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." (KJV)

LIGHT TO SEE HIS GLORY

God spoke light into existence at the beginning of creation. He puts that same light into our hearts so that we can see the truth about Christ, who is the reflection of God's glory.

Read 2 Corinthians 4:6

"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ."

WITH OR WITHOUT FAITH

Human faith only goes as far as the human mind can understand. When we realize the limitations of our own faith, we are free to accept the free gift of faith from God. This faith will allow us to come to Him, seriously seek Him, and thereby find Him. The reward in that is from Him and is to make us more like Him.

Read Hebrews 11:6

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."

YOUR TROUBLES HIS TROUBLES

If we are suffering from troubles and problems because of our own choices (doing things our own way), we have no one to blame but ourselves. When we suffer because of our faithful service to the Lord, He is there to share in the victory He won for us at the cross.

Read John 16:33

"I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

AWAKE, ALERT, AND READY

Jesus warns us that He is coming quickly and unexpectedly. We are to be
awake, aware, and ready so we will not get caught shamefully unprepared.

Read Revelation 16:15

"Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his
clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed."

HE WAS HERE!

The Maker of the universe and everything in it was here on this earth, as a man,
showing us the way to eternal life. The world did not recognize nor acknowledge
Him as such. In fact, He was despised, ridiculed, and murdered.

Read John 1:10

"He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world
did not recognize Him."
