GOD SEES THE HEART

As humans, we are prone to judging the worth of a person by his appearance. We judge by the exterior. God judges a person by looking at his heart. We are unable to make a determination in the way God does because we cannot see the heart of another. It is reasonable to conclude that we must not judge others because we are not able to gather the information necessary to make a correct judgment.

Heavenly Father, we ask that you will help us to refrain from judging others and to leave that job to you, the One who knows the hearts of all mankind. In Jesus' name.

Read 1 Samuel 16:7

"But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'" (NIV)

"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." (KJV)

Thanks so much for the reminder. We as believers sometimes forget that only God can judge a person. May our Lord continue to bless you. God bless, Lloyd

Only God can judge the heart. I've heard that we are "fruit inspectors" looking for the "Good fruit" that the Bible tells us. Matthew 7:1-6 of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is the Lord's teaching on judging. What is your take on Jesis' words in verse 6?
Thanks for the thought provoking post.
