END OF OUR ROPE

 

 

Job 6:11

 

"What is my strength, that I should wait? And what is my end, that I should be patient?" ESV

 

Have we come to the end of our rope and realize we are helpless to do anything about our situation? If so, it is then, we can get out of the way, and God can do His mighty work in our lives.

 

Heavenly Father, we seem to always get into circumstances that are too overwhelming for us and we hang on by a thread to keep from giving up. When these things happen to us, and they will, give us the power of the Holy Spirit to look to You, put our trust in You, and let You do for us what You have wanted to do all along. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER

Titus 1:16     "They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work." ESV     People like to talk and some like to talk so that they will be believed. There is a rude awakening for those people. When we communicate with others, they will pay attention to only 7% of the words we say, 38% of how we say it, and 55% of our behaviors they see. Be careful about saying the right words and not living them. No one likes a hypocrite and our God sees those who do this as useless.     Heavenly Father, search our hearts and minds and show us if we are saying one thing and doing another. Help us to have actions  consistent with the words we speak about our faith. We pray that we will be useful for Your kingdom. LISTEN AND LIVE

Revelation 2:7   "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God." ESV   Salvation is the free gift of God through faith in Christ Jesus. However, it is our walk through this world of time on earth that shows whether we have truly accepted that free gift. If we overcome the obstacles and trials lying in our path, we will be counted as the true believers and live forever with Him.   Heavenly Father, how we stand in need of Your forgiveness for allowing ourselves to be overcome by the things of this world. We pray for the fullness of Your Holy Spirit that we will be armed and ready to overcome whatever this world puts in our way. WE AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET

 

 

Romans 8:18

 

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." ESV

 

 

Suffering comes to all at one time or another. Some go through much more suffering than others. Some believe they are suffering horribly until they see others much worse off than themselves. Then there are some that suffer and live above the suffering so that others have no idea. Whatever the type or intensity of the suffering, it will fade away into nothing and be forgotten forever when we see the wonderful things God has for us who believe.

 

 

Heavenly Father, we confess that we complain and grumble when we are suffering in one way or another. Forgive us for focusing on the suffering, that will totally pass away, and help us to stay fixed on the glory You have waiting for us with You in heaven. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

THWARTED EVIL ATTEMPT

Genesis 50:19,20     "But Joseph said to them, 'Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.'" ESV     When it seems that the events of life or the actions of others are surely going to destroy us, we can take heart. We are where God is able to use us for this time and season. He intends this discouraging peril to be for our good and the good of those around us. In this way, His diving purpose is completed.     Heavenly Father, forgive us for our lack of faith when things get really hard and frightening. Help us to remember that You have always been in control, You are still in control, and You will always be in control. We may not understand the good You are intending, but we pray for that peace that tells us it's going to be all right. NO PASSING AWAY

 

 

Mark 13:31

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." ESV

In the beginning God said, "Let there be light." No one will argue that there is still light shining, the sun, moon, and stars. There will be no need for those created lights in eternity, because Christ will be the bright and shining light for ever and ever. Those words God spoke in the beginning will never pass away. Every word spoken by Him throughout time, the living Word of God will continue on and on, never ending.

Heavenly Father, how we praise and honor You for the Word You have given us. We thank You that we can stand on every Word uttered by You. Help us to be open and willing to accept Your Word that never passes away. Increase our hunger to be lights in this world and bow in the light of Your presence for eternity. In Jesus' name, Amen.

SHARP EARED SHEEP

John 10:27,28   "But you do not believe because you are not part of my flock. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." ESV   Do we hear our Lord when He speaks to us? If we are His sheep, we hear Him and by His grace, we live the way He wants for us. How do we, as Christians become sharp eared sheep in His flock and know His voice? We can do this by continually walking in His Spirit, studying His Word, and abiding in His presence through prayer. Then we will recognize His voice, He will know us, and we will follow Him right on into eternal life.   Heavenly Father, the noise of this world so often drowns out what You are saying to us. Anoint our ears and our hearts so that we will stay so close to You, the clamor of this world will fade, and all we will hear is Your voice.
