WHEN TO COME AND WHEN TO GO

 

 

Numbers 9:17

 

"And whenever the cloud lifted from over the tent, after that the people of Israel set out, and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the people of Israel camped." ESV

 

In our human condition, we tend to make changes when we get bored, or feel we need a change from our run of the mill lives. We forget that the Lord plants us where we are for a purpose and when that purpose is fulfilled, He moves us on to another place. We cannot plan our lives on our emotions and moments. God will let us know when it is time to make changes. His timing is perfect. Our waiting is a demonstration of the faith we have in believing God knows what's best for us.

 

Heavenly Father, how we thank You for Your infinite wisdom that You share with us when we need it. Forgive us for moving ahead of You, dishonoring Your plan for our lives. Help us to wait and help us to be ready to go. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

SUBMISSION AND RESISTANCE

James 4:7   "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." NIV   "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." KJV   We only have the power to resist the devil after we totally submit ourselves to God. When we recognize we are being taunted and attacked by the evil one, we often try to chase him away in our own strength. If we turn to our God and put our lives completely in His hands, we can then resist evil, and he has to go away. Satan cannot stay in the presence of the Almighty God.   Heavenly Father, we confess that we try to resist evil in our own strength at times. Forgive us for that. Help us to always turn to You in those times of temptation and taunting from Satan. Give us Your power to resist him and make him flee. It is by Your power that we live and breathe. SUBMIT & RESIST

God will never force us to obey or serve Him. We are free to choose
willingly to make ourselves subject to Him in obedience. Likewise,
the devil will continually make attempts to taunt and tempt us, but
we are free to resist him by faith in God and he has to leave us alone.

Read James 4:7
