WHAT'S HIDING IN YOUR HEART?

Proverbs 28:13

"Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy." ESV

It's human nature to want to hide those things we know are sin. We work increasingly hard to keep these things private so others will not find us out. But, this keeps us stuck in our spiritual walk with Christ and we sit guilt ridden, with fear of exposure, and physically ill from the pressure of carrying hidden sin. We cannot hide our sin from God. But we can be set free from the burden of sin by stopping it, approaching God, and confessing our sin to Him. With His loving forgiveness, He will shower us with His mercy.

Heavenly Father, we rejoice that You are always ready to forgive us when we come to You confessing and repenting of our sin. Give us courage, insight, and strength to face our own sins, so that by Your mercy, there will be nothing standing in the way of our spiritual prosperity. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

SHARING AND PRAYING

James 5:16

"Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." NIV

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." KJV

When we admit our faults and shortcomings to each other, it clears our minds and strengthens us to trust in the Lord for grace to be more like Him. Praying for one another promotes Godly love, empathy, and accountability. Even more, it promotes healing as God always responds to the powerful and earnest prayers of His righteous ones.

Heavenly Father, we do not do a very good job of admitting our sins to ourselves, much less to confess them to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Stir our hearts to make us aware of the sin in our lives and give us courage to share with those who will pray earnestly with us so that we may be healed of the damage of sin in our lives. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

POWERFUL PRAYER

We often take the precious gift of prayer for granted. Or, we
use prayer as a time to give God the list of our needs. Prayer
is a powerful tool that allows us to praise and communicate with our God. It is our avenue to healing and forgiveness. If we are living right before God, our prayers are very powerful.

Heavenly Father, you have directed us in your word to pray. We thank you that you have given great power to the prayers of those who live righteously. In Jesus' name.

Read James 5:16

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." (NIV)

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (KJV)

GOD KNOWS HIS OWN

God is the builder of the Church. Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone, secured forever by the seal of God's hand. A seal signifies ownership and removes all doubt about the truth of God's word. Many many people proclaim they are Christians, but they are not. God knows those who are genuinely His. They have turned from their selfish and ungodly ways. God's Church is pure and holy, built on Jesus Christ, the cornerstone and the foundation of the Word of God.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that we can have unwavering faith in your Word. Help us to live holy before you and before men, so that your Church brings you glory and honor. In Jesus' name.

Read 2 Itmothy 2:19

"Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this
inscription: 'The Lord knows those who are his,' and 'Everyone who
confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.'"
(NIV)

"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal,
The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth
the name of Christ depart from iniquity." (KJV)

CONFESS

Confessing our sin is to recognize it, admit we are guilty, and then take it to the Lord. He is true to His own nature and His Word. He will not only forgive our guilt, but will also purify our hearts so that we are clean before Him.

Read 1 John 1:9

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
