BEAUTIFUL PLAN

Ecclesiastes 3:11

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end." ESV

From our human view, we see things from a very limited understanding. Those things we see as harsh and devastating are a part of God's great plan that reveals the beauty of His love. When things appear to be very bad, remember, God will reveal something beautiful from it in time.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for complaining the way gets tough. Speak through our hearts that You have a plan and this will all make sense in Your time. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

EVERYTHING IN ITS TIME

Ecclesiastes 3:4

"A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance." ESV

During our stay on earth there will be times when things in our lives will cause us to grieve and weep. Likewise, there will be times when life will bring us joy and laughter. God's love for us is not dependent on what we are going through here on earth. We are experiencing what all humans go through in this world, even as our Lord did. We can take heart with hope that the day is coming when there will be no more grieving and weeping.

Heavenly Father, we confess that at times when we are having troubles, and we are grieving and depressed, we feel You have forgotten us, no longer care, or have not heard us. We know this is not what Your Word tells us. Help us to understand that the bad and difficult things come to all of us just as the good things. You are always with us and watching out for us, ready to bring us to the place You have prepared for us in heaven. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

GOD'S PLAN IN GOD'S TIME

Read Esther 4:14

"For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" ESV

Many times we wonder why we are in certain situations, why are we here? How can anything good come from this? Surely, God has forgotten us or has not listened to our prayers. How can God really love us and put us in difficult or perplexing circumstances? Brothers and sisters, God has a plan. His plan will come to pass and He orchestrates it through us and through circumstances. Though we do not see the purpose now, it will be made very clear in His time.

Heavenly Father, it seems we try to figure out in our own limited minds just what You are doing when situations happen that we don't understand. Forgive us for doubting and for questioning Your workings. Help us to keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and walking in faith. We pray in His name, Amen.

HIS TIME NOT OURS

2 Peter 3:9

"The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
NIV

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." KJV

God is not confined to space and time. Neither does He move or act in our system of time. Unfortunately, we are confined to time and space. Because that's all we know, we expect Him to work and act within the boundary of our limits. Actually, God moves and acts from the unfolding of His eternal plan that gives you, me, and all who walk the earth, an opportunity to change our ways and commit our lives to Him. If we trust Him, how can we question the way He does things?

Heavenly Father, forgive us for expecting You to work things out in our time frames and in our ways. Help us to trust You and remember that You are working all things out for our good and Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WHEN IS IT TIME?

Ecclesiastes 3:1

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." NIV

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." KJV

We all know that our world's view is one of instant gratification, instant answers, instant closure. Technology is geared to develop faster processors, quicker communication, and instant knowledge. This is not God's way. It is our God who governs the right time for all things and how they will come about. We might have high speed Internet, but when we pray to the Lord for an answer to our situations, we wait on Him to work it out in His time and in His way, because it is His will and His good pleasure to make it perfect and to be glorified in it. When we allow our God to work things out in His time, we can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is right and it is perfect timing.

Heavenly Father, how weak we are that we pray for answers and say that we trust You for the answers, then we complain and become worrisome that the answer isn't here now. Help us to wait in quiet confidence that You have time for everything and a purpose for our waiting for it. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

THE ANSWER IS COMING

Habakkuk 2:3

"For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay." NIV

"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." KJV

We pray for specific things to happen in our lives and the answer does not seem to come. As a result, we lose heart, or we question whether God heard us. If we forget that God's timing is so very different from ours, we get frustrated that He is not working on our time schedule. Whatever it is we are believing God for and are waiting upon the answer, be certain that it will come to pass. Believe that it is because His Word is certain and will not return to him empty of His purpose.

Heavenly Father, we are sorry that we get impatient and expect You to work things out on our time schedule and in our own ways. Give us the ability to use the measure of faith You have given us to wait for the answer that You promised would come. And help us to use our time wisely while we wait. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

A TIME FOR ALL THINGS

Ecclesiastes 3:5

"A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing." NIV

"A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing." KJV

Change is difficult. Even when things are not the way we want them to be or even if things are bad, we have a hard time making changes we need to make. We hang on to the familiar even when it is not in our best interest. God tells us there is a time for everything. If we pray for direction, remain open, and wait for His timing, He will let us know the time and way we need to change the things that need changing. It may be uncomfortable, but He will work it out. He will be glorified and we will be more like Him.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for holding on to things when they are not good for us. Forgive us for being too afraid or too uncomfortable to make changes in our lives. Help us to stand strong and do the things we need to do when it's time and trust You to be with us every step of the way. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
