Jude 17-19
"But dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, 'In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.'" NIV
"But beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit." KJV

It is so very wise for us to study and know God's Word and the warnings given by the men who walked with our Lord. They told us to be aware and ready for seducing men who follow their own ideas and desires and try to get us to follow long with them. They create a religious environment that condones and minimizes sin as if it were nothing at all and produces no remorse or guilt. They encourage us to focus on seeking blessings and reaping our own rewards rather than on focusing on Christ, in humility and seeking only to please Him. These people do not have God's Holy Spirit at all. Be on the alert.

Heavenly Father, we are in great need of the discernment of the Holy Spirit to be able to recognize false teachers who tell us what we want to hear and not what You want us to hear. Give us willing hearts and minds to hear the whole Truth and to follow it regardless of whether we reap earthly benefits from it or not. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
