The Lord has
provided ministers of the faith in order to build up the Body of Christ. The
finished work God intended for His Church is that we first of all be unified.
Until we can get past our traditional beliefs and denominational thinking, we
will keep struggling to reach unity in Christ. The Lord intends for us to become
knowledgeable of the things of God so that we will be more like His Son. If we
open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, we will learn and we will grow.
Heavenly Father,
how far we are from being the Church You would have us to be. Help us to hunger
for the likeness of Christ, to be attentive to those who have been entrusted to
teach us, and to seek unity with our brothers and sisters in the Lord. We pray
in the name of Jesus, Amen.
