1 John
3:9

is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they
cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God."NIV

is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot
sin, because he is born of God."KJV
As humans and not
yet made perfect, we will make mistakes and commit sins; however, we will not
continue in ongoing sin. There is no way we can do so because the conviction of
the Holy Spirit will see to it that we come before the Lord, confess the sin we
have committed, repent, and walk on forgiven and washed clean. When someone
comes to us and claims to be a born again believer, but is living in a sinful
way, they are deceiving us or they themselves are deceived. They are not true
children of God.
Heavenly Father,
how awesome it is that we will refrain from continuing in sin when You have
washed our sins away by the blood of Christ. We ask that the Holy Spirit will
search our hearts and lives to reveal if we have any remaining sin so that we
can confess it, repent, and be washed clean. We pray this in the name of Jesus,
Amen.
