TRUE WORSHIP

John 4:24

"God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." NIV

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." KJV

How often have we as humans tried to picture in our minds what God looks like? Our minds can't conceive of how God looks because He does not exist in any material form. He is pure Spirit and dwells in all places at all times. Because God is a Spirit, we can only worship Him in the Holy Spirit. He knows us anyway. Only those who are born again have come alive spiritually and can worship God in the Spirit. That is the only way He receives our true worship. If we approach the throne of Grace with the Spirit and truth and not haphazardly or with complacency, our worship will be received by Almighty God and we will be refreshed and restored by having been spiritually in His presence.

Heavenly Father, we can't praise You enough for allowing us to worship You in Spirit and truth. We thank You for giving us life in the Spirit so we can worship You. Forgive us for our lack of fervor and time worshipping You, because You alone are worthy of all praise and worship. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

I'm so grateful for His word and His Spirit that lives within. Breathing Him continually, moment by moment.

Monday smiles,

This reminds me of a story my hubby used to tell in sermons. A little boy was drawing a picture. When the teacher asked him what it was, he said he was drawing a picture of God. The teacher told him no one knows what God looks like. The little boy replied "they will when I get through with this picture."
Thank you, Dr. Bobbi, for sharing your insight each week with us on Spiritual Sundays.
Blessings,
Charlotte
