2 Corinthians
6:14
"Do not be
yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have
in common? Or what fellowship can light have with
darkness?"NIV
"Be ye not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with
darkness?" KJV
There are so many
things that are working their way into the church and into the lives of
individual believers that distort and pollute the pure Christian life. It's not
so much that as Christians we will join ourselves with obvious evil, but we have
become so tolerant and conditioned to the ways of the world, we join ourselves
in with the world without giving it a second thought. It is our responsibility
to test our chosen associates and to get away from those that are not connected
to the Christian walk. If we try to walk with the world and with Christ, we will
eventually find ourselves corrupted and strayed from the narrow path that leads
to eternal life.
Heavenly Father,
please help us to examine our associations and to stop those that are not Godly
and pleasing in your sight. Help us to join ourselves with like believers so
that we will walk in harmony, remaining pure as Your children. In Jesus' name,
Amen.

Very timely message - we are constantly bombarded with the necessity to "accept" behaviors that are contrary to our teachings. Our tolerance, unfortunately, doesn't just extend to the person, who is still a chid of God and requires our love, but extends to the act, which goes adainst God! Separating them is one thing we must always be vigilant in doing, lest we fall under the sway of the evil one. Have a blessed day!
So true Linda. On every side we are faced with worldly ideas and ways. The Word of God says things will wax worse and worse in the last days. Thanks for your comment.
The picture makes a perfect example for unequally yoked. And I think you're right. It is easy to let the ways of the world interfere with our Christian walk. Thank you for sharing this insight.
Blessings,
Charlotte
