PLANKS AND SPECKS

Matthew 7:3

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" NIV

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" KJV

If we are spiritually attuned to the Lord at all, it doesn't take but a quick glance in the mirror to see the we have need of drastic spiritual surgery to remove the huge "planks" out of our own eyes. When we get that taken care of, only then are we able to humbly and lovingly help others get those little splinters out of their eyes. Being spiritually led, we will always see our own sins and shortcomings as greater than the same sins and shortcomings in others. In addition, we will remember where we once were when a humble and loving soul helped us with our splinters.

Heavenly Father, help us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit when we examine ourselves so that we will get the planks out of our eyes before we seek to help others with their splinters. Forgive us for failing to look at ourselves first. Give us love and humility when we help others. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

Amen, Dr. Bobbi. It is a lot easier to see someone else's faults than it is our own. This is a scripture we need to pay a lot of attention to. Thank you for sharing it.
Blessings,
Charlotte
