GOD'S COMFORT

Psalm 94:19

"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul." NIV

"In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul." KJV

We have all been in situations where we have become anxious, afraid, confused, fearful, and discouraged. During those times, we turn to the Lord and ask Him to help us in our time of need. Many times, we allow ourselves to stay in the terrible state we are in just waiting for God to come along and stop it or take it away. If we rise above the moment long enough to focus on the love and comfort of our God, He will allow His powerful mercy to flow into our hearts and we will be open to the comfort He so longs for us to receive. We forget that He is always willing to lavish us with comfort, but we aren't always getting to a place where we can receive it.

Heavenly Father, how wonderful You are that we can trust You to meet us where we are in the tough times and the wonderful times. Help us Lord, when we are in difficulty, to stop and focus on You and Your loving kindness, knowing it will open our hearts to receive the comfort You long to give us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
