Isaiah 40:31
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." NIV
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." KJV
What does it mean to hope? Most would say it is believing that things will turn out good. Using that definition, we could say our hope in God is that He will make all our situations turn out in the way we thought or wanted. If that is the kind of hope we have, we will be left disappointed and wondering if God cares at all. To hope in the Lord is to believe He will work things out for His glory and for our good, whether we like the way He does it or not. This kind of hope means we believe He will work things out the best way and will give us grace and courage to keep walking with Him.
Heavenly Father, show us the right kind of hope so that we can know this renewing of strength, this endurance, and this power of walking with You. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Wonderful post and reminder.. "To hope in the Lord is to believe He will work things out for His glory and for our good, whether we like the way He does it or not. " Whether we like the way He does it or not.. those words just struck me. I might not always like the route He takes with me, but I am reminded that He sees from a much larger view.
Thank you for sharing.
