STUDY

We are well aware there is a difference between reading
and studying. When it comes to the Holy Bible, God’s
Word, it is well that we take time to read several verses
or chapters on a regular basis. However, we are
exhorted  to “study” the Word. That takes much more
than simply reading then going on our way. It means we
will dig deep to find other scriptures pertaining to this
subject. It means  we will pray that the Holy Spirit will
bring the words alive to us. It means we will take time
to meditate on the verses, look up key words in a
concordance. We do not study the scriptures because
they will save us. We study the scriptures because
they teach us who God is and they lead  us to Him.

Heavenly Father, forgive us when we get hurried
by our schedules and we don't take the time to
study your Word. Help us to discipline ourselves to
take time to study and meditate on the living Word
thatwill give us wisdom and bring us closer to you.
In Jesus' name.

Read 2 Timothy 2:15

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one
approved, a workman who does not need to be
ashamed and who correctly handles the word of
truth." (NIV)

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth." (KJV)

Thanks for reminding me this day to keep the "main thing" the main thing.

Blessings,

Hi Bobbi,

This is a good reminder to: Study...What? The scriptures, the word of God...How? Through correctly understanding and discerning the word of God...Why? That I would be approved by God and not experience the shame of improperly handling the word of God.

Blessings and peace.
