DISCIPLINE

Not too many of us like to be disciplined for our mistakes
and punished for our wrong doings; but the Lord
chooses to discipline us and to let us reap what we have
sown. He does so because His discipline gets us to the
place where we will submit to His will and we will
become holy, as He is holy. It is a good thing to be
disciplined by the Lord. It shows us we are His children
and that He is watching over our walk with Him.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that you discipline us
for the times when we fail to do what is right. Help
us, Lord, to accept your discipline and to remember
that it will bring us closer to you and make us more
holy. In Jesus' name.

Read Hebrews 12:5,6

"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because
the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes
everyone he accepts as a son." (NIV)

"And ye have forgotten the exhortation which
speaketh unto you as unto children, My son,
despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor
faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom
the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth
every son whom he receiveth." (KJV)

...and we don't like to read these kind of posts, even though it is a message we need to hear! Thank you, sister! Have a great weekend, and a very blessed Spiritual Sunday.

You're right. We sure don't want to be disciplined. I know I don't. But we need to be just as you have said. Thanks for posting.

A lot of people mistakenly believe that God does not discipline anybody. As these scriptures point out so clearly, he disciplines his children because he loves them. Thank you for pointing this out so well.
Blessings,
Charlotte
