"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better." Ephesians 1:17 (NIV)

WEEDS OR WHEAT

The enemy can't uproot true Christians, so he deceitfully
plants counterfeit Christians among them. He even goes
so far as to plant counterfeit churches, false righteousness,
and in the last days, a false messiah. Unfortunately, this
evil tactic will result in some of the very elect of God being
deceived and believing lies. In His time, the true and the
counterfeit will be revealed. If we stay alert, keep on the
armor of God, and search our own hearts, we can be
revealed as true Christians, not counterfeits.

Heavenly Father, You have told us that deception would
be rampant in the last days. We earnestly pray that You
will help us to stay alert, keep Your armor on, and search
our hearts so that we may be found as Your true children.
In Jesus' name.

Read Matthew 13:24,25

"The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good
seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his
enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and
went away. (NIV)

"The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed
good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came
and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way." (KJV)

Amen! We need to be on the alert and not be deceived or side tracked in these dangerous times. We need to fix our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

This is a helpful reminder to be like the Bereans; students of the Word, examining scripture, determining truth from error (Acts 17:11,12).

Blessings,
Terri

Those who love God love truth. He is a "God of truth" as Moses wrote in Deuteronomy. Christ said, "I am the truth." Those who "walk in truth" obey God's ...
I always pray for God to keep me in the right path.
Great post.

We need to be alert and pay attention to God and His Word and then trust in His protection and not live in fear. Thank you for the warning that we need to be alert.

Excellent points. That's why it's so vital to spend time daily in God's Word, surrender to Him daily, and make sure our churches are solidly based on His Word. None are perfect but God is and HE will care for HIS sheep - HOORAY.

And I have to tell you the picture from Saturday - the babies in the hand - SOOOOO cute! :)

Have a blessed week.
