FREEDOM

Sometimes the concept of freedom is tragically
misunderstood. Freedom is not being able to do whatever
we want to do. If everyone practiced this view of freedom,
there would be total chaos. Actually, freedom is being able
to do what we know is the right thing to do. As humans, we
are unable to practice this kind of freedom, but we are
given the ability through the Holy Spirit. We are then free
to say no to sin, temptation, and habits that interfere in our
walk with the Lord. We are no longer imprisoned by the
ways of the world and Satan. We are free to live righteous
and holy lives. Free to become more like Christ.

Heavenly Father, please forgive us for misusing our freedom
to do as we please. Help us to trust You and be receptive to
Your Holy Spirit so that we can be truly free to become more
like Jesus Christ. In His name we pray.

Read 2 Corinthians 3:17

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord
is, there is freedom." (NIV)

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord
is, there is liberty." (KJV)

I love that Paul stressed the importance of not being able to do whatever we want to do just because we have received His gift of grace.

And by His grace, we can...strive to do what is right. Thank you for this reminder. God bless and praying all is well with you.

I think it is interesting that God has to tell us plain out, "It is for freedom's sake that you are set free." Gal. 5:1, I think.

Free to become more like Him--I love that. Thank you.
