WHO DID ALL THIS?

Colossians 1:16

"For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him." ESV

Jesus Christ is the creator of all things. He created all by Himself and because of Himself. There was no other force to encourage or motivate Him. The universe and all things known and unknown were made by the eternal, unlimited, uncreated God, Jesus Christ. He is the One who set aside His place as God, humbled Himself, and became a living human being. He did this in order to be the sinless sacrifice for our sins.

Lord, we are incapable of fully knowing the greatness of Your power and majesty. Neither can we realize the tremendous sacrifice You made for us at the cross. We humbly pray to walk pleasing in Your site. In Your magnificent name we pray, Amen.

NOT INSIGNIFICANT

Psalm 144:3

"Lord, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?" NIV

"Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!" KJV

Our God is the One who put the awesome and seemingly endless universe in place. Our God holds all of the galaxies and systems in their place, bringing order. Our God spoke everything into existence and He is eternal, He was, He is, and He will be. Why would such a majestic, magnificent, and eternal God keep His mind focused on us, mere flesh and blood, sinful, and self-centered beings. Why did He consider our lost state and send His Son to die for us? Why is He concerned about us at all? Because He loves us. He created us to love Him and to love each other. If He loves us this much, how much more should we think of others? How much more should we love others, even those who are unlovely?

Heavenly Father, how gracious and awesome is Your love. We cannot thank You enough for You mindfulness of us. How we pray that You would put that same love and thoughtfulness within our hearts so that we might be more like You and change this world through love. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING

Hebrews 11:3

"By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." NIV

"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." KJV

Many people believe the mere theories of science because they have no faith and need to have some kind of proof about what is true. Unfortunately, science does not prove truth. It only rejects what is not true. In today's scientific theory, the universe began by a big explosion. The big question to the Big Bang Theory is "Where did the energy, the particles, the materials come from that caused the explosion? The Word of God tells us where every thing that "is" came into being. It was by His Word. He spoke it into existence. Man nor science can create anything out of nothing as our God did. Man can only fathom and combine the things God already created to make a different combination. God Almighty is the only Creator and the Creator of all things.

Heavenly Father, what an awesome God You are! We are amazed at the wonderful creation You spoke into existence because of Your love. Our minds cannot understand because it is so beyond what we can comprehend. Help us to use our faith to understand that You created every thing that exists. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

LOOK UP AT THE SKY

Psalm 19:1

" The heavens declare of glory of God; the skies proclaim the works of his hands." NIV

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." KJV

When we step outside on a clear night, we can look up into the sky and see the vast and countless stars that fill the sky. If we focus on just one star, we begin to see many more around it and far beyond it in the distance. God tells us in His Word that the stars cannot be counted. They go on and on into the heavens and beyond to eternity. It is the same when we look at the bright blue sky on a clear day. We cannot see the end of it, past the sun and beyond. This is what God spoke into existence for us. These magnificent creations were formed by His almighty hands. Those who refuse to believe God have no excuse. His glory is plainly declared merely by looking upward.

Heavenly Father, how glorious and majestic You are that You would put the sky and the stars in place and hold them there by Your Word and Your almighty hands. We praise You for the magnificence of our universe and pray that unbelievers would acknowledge that You are the Creator God who loves them and sent His Son to die for their sins. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL

Ecclesiastes 3:11

"He as made everything beautiful in its time....." NIV

"He hath made every thing beautiful in his time...." KJV

It's very difficult for us to see that everything has beauty in it. Sometimes the way our lives go, it seems that any beauty is non-existent. But when we look at the caterpillar locking itself within a tiny cocoon for a period of time, we wonder what beauty could there be in that. In time, the cocoon begins to crack and open. There is a traumatic struggle that seems nothing but death could possibly result. Where's the beauty in that? But, finally, there emerges the most beautiful butterfly that spreads it's wings and flutters through the air with graceful freedom. There's the beauty! If we begin to think of our own struggles as part of the process to God's beauty, we will have hope.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for becoming discouraged when things just don't seem to go right. Fill our hearts and minds with the understanding that everything is beautiful in Your time. Help us rejoice that things will work out for our good and Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

THE CURSE

It is understood by looking in the Word, historical records, and looking
at the earth around us now that it is a grieving, sorrowful world. The
whole earth and all creation were put under a curse when Adam and
Eve sinned in the garden of Eden. No one is immune to this curse. We
wait for that day when Christ returns and the curse is lifted. Then, there
will be no more sorrow, suffering, crying or pain.

Read Romans 8:22

"We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains
of childbirth right up to the present time." (NIV)

"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain
together until now." (KJV)
