WHO'S GIVING THIS TEST?

 

Ephesians 6:13

 

"Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm." ESV 

 

When we are struggling with a temptation or heavy trial in our lives, we sometimes say God is really testing us through this. God does not test us nor does he tempt or wrestle with us. The truth is, we are wrestling with the evil forces of Satan. Our Lord emphasizes that we need to put on and keep on His armor so that we can stand strong and overcome these evil forces. It is our choice to keep the Armor of God firmly on, or to let ourselves get spiritually sloppy and find ourselves wrestling a losing battle to the enemy. Our gracious God have given us all we need to overcome, even the choice to use what He has given us.

 

Lord, forgive us for getting so caught up in our own earthly lives that we fail to even recognize we have only part of Your armor on. You have shown us these are truly the last days. Give us zeal for being prepared and for being witnesses of Truth. In Your name we pray, Amen.

NUMBER 1 FASHION CHOICE OF ALL TIME

 

Ephesians 6:12,13

 

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm." ESV 

 

Whether we choose to believe it or not, a spiritual battle is raging and we are a part of the battle. This battle is over our souls and the destruction of the Church. The enemy in this battle is Satan, whose most dangerous and cunning feature is to deceive humans into believing he doesn't exist. He works around the clock to strategically instruct his legions of fallen angles to assist in his mission. His mode of operation is to appeal to our senses, distort our thoughts, and use circumstances to deceive us. He loves it when he can make us question God and His Word. However, God has given us everything we need to fight this battle and win. It is His armor! And, we must wear it at all times.

 

Heavenly Father, our flesh, our natural senses override everything and we become weak and vulnerable to the tricks of Satan. Forgive us for not putting on the important wearing apparel, Your armor. Forgive us for becoming complacent and unaware of the seriousness of this battle. Help us to put on Your full armor so that we will be ready to defeat this enemy anytime and anyplace. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

NEVER HALF NAKED

 

 

Ephesians 6:11

"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." ESV

The apostle Paul did not write this letter to an individual. He wrote it to the Church in Ephesus. The Lord did not intend for us to fight the schemes of the devil on our own. As members of His Body, the Church, we are to all put on the full armor, working together, praying together, standing firm together, and tearing down Satan's strongholds together. The Lord will take care of our personal problems if we live in that armor, praying in faith to Him.

Heavenly Father, how we pray for Your grace to help us do our part in making sure the Church is fully dressed. We believe You will take care of us in all our struggles if we put the Body of Christ, Your Church first by keeping the full armor on at all times. In Jesus' name, Amen.

DON'T BE HALF DRESSED

Ephesians 6:11   "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." ESV   What would happen if we went out to work in the sub-zero weather with a swim suit on? What would happen to a soldier who went into the battle zone with no helmet or while wearing flip flops? Living the Christian life and wearing the full armor of God is even more important. Not only is our own eternity at stake, but so is that of those with whom we share the Gospel. Without the full armor of God, we will surely be taken in by the evil one.   Heavenly Father, how we stand in need of Your full armor. Help us to be aware of all parts of the armor and to be sure we are well dressed to meet the fiery darts of this evil world. Without the full armor, we will surely be overcome by evil.
