Micah
6:8
"He as shown
you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act
justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."NIV
"He hath
shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to
do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy
God?"KJV
What the Lord
requires of us, we cannot do on our own. He will enable us if we come before
Him, broken and repentant. It is then He will help us to do acts of goodness, to
show mercy to others, and to walk in humility before Him and our fellowmen. Our
Lord did all these things toward us, so He can justly require us to do the same
toward others.
Heavenly Father,
we confess before You that we try to live a righteous life in our own strength
and we fall so very short. Empower us with Your Holy Spirit so that we will be
able to live in goodness, mercy, and humility. We ask in Jesus' name,
Amen.
