LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED

Romans 13:10

"Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." ESV

There is no earthly law that limits how much we can love and do good to others. If we truly love, we will never do any wrong toward others. There would never be anything to condemn. Love verifies that we belong to the Lord and it draws others to him. If we allow love to rule our hearts, love is the only law we need.

Heavenly Father, we are so thankful that You are Love and that You pour Your love on us every moment of every day. We ask that You help us to let Your love flow through us so that we will be a blessing to those who so desperately need Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

GIVE IT UP!

John 12:24

"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." ESV

We will be in a battle between our born again spirits and our old human natures, until the Lord comes for us. We will not be fruitful for His kingdom unless we give up living by our human natures. When we do, our spirits will thrive and produce abundance for Him. There is no other way to be productive for Him. Watch what happens to one seed when you plant it and bury it in the ground. Watch what happens to the seed when you just hold it in your hand.

Heavenly Father, we humbly ask You to give us awareness of this battle between our spirits and our flesh. Help us to die to our flesh so that our spiritual lives can produce abundant fruit for Your kingdom. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

PERFECT TIMING

Habakkuk 2:3

"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end--it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." ESV

We all have prayers we are still waiting for the Lord to answer. It's human to want to give up when answers don't come in our time frame. When we get our minds off when God should move, and focus on Him and His great plan, we see a much different picture. The answers we are waiting for are already on the way. They will come just at the right time, in just the right way, His way, not ours. We can count on it.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for becoming impatient when our prayers are not answered when we think they should be. Help us remember that You are in control, You are God, and You always hear us. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

GUILT TO THE HILT

Psalm 25:11

"For your name's sake, O Lord, pardon my guilt, for it is great." ESV

How could we expect to break laws without ever having to take responsibility and accept consequences. We have all committed wrong against God and our fellowmen. If we were to be call into account for them now, we would be in the most desperate of places. But God in His infinite wisdom knew we would be strong in intentions and weak in spirit. So, He sent Jesus Christ to settle all those bad accounts for us. It is in His name we are made righteous.

Heavenly Father, please forgive us our weaknesses and our transgressions. We are unworthy of Your grace and mercy, but You are the God who gives us the way to be worthy in Your eyes. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ. In His name we pray, Amen.

THE BIG EXAM

Lamentations 3:40

"Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord." ESV

Who enjoys taking tests or being examined. It's hard to learn things about ourselves that aren't very desirable. But, the only way we can find out if there is something wrong is to test or examine. The Word of God tells us to examine ourselves to see if there is anything in us that needs to be gone. When our self examination exposes these things, we can confess them, repent, and get back into perfect harmony with our Lord.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for neglecting to examine ourselves for things in our lives that should not be there. Help us to make it a regular practice so that we can be clean before You. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

WHAT MORE DO WE NEED?

2 Corinthians 12:9

"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." ESV

How often do we pray earnestly for the Lord to take our trials and tribulations away? Do we ask God why He isn't answering our prayers while letting Him know we don't know how long we can keep going on with these burdens? No matter what our problem is, the answer to our prayers is His all sufficient grace. In the midst of trials and turmoil, the power of the Lord will burst through us when we accept His grace by praising Him.

Heavenly Father, we ask for Your forgiveness when we fail to acknowledge Your all sufficient grace. Help us to be willing to step aside and allow Your power to shine in our lives in spite of our trials. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

WHO DID IT?

Isaiah 26:12

"O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works." ESV

Isn't it gratifying to think back on some of the things we accomplished in our lives and they have been really good things. There's nothing wrong with remembering and feeling good about those things. The problem sneaks in when we fail to remember that it is the Lord who has done those things through us. He gave us the talent, the time, the strength, the gifts, and the very breath to complete the work. Without Him, we wouldn't have done anything.

Heavenly Father, forgive us because we have, at times, failed to remember that You have done all things through us and for us. Help us to always give You glory for the good things You chose to do through us. Without You, we know we are helpless. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
