BEAUTIFUL PLAN

Ecclesiastes 3:11

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end." ESV

From our human view, we see things from a very limited understanding. Those things we see as harsh and devastating are a part of God's great plan that reveals the beauty of His love. When things appear to be very bad, remember, God will reveal something beautiful from it in time.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for complaining the way gets tough. Speak through our hearts that You have a plan and this will all make sense in Your time. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

EQUAL AMOUNTS OF GRACE

Romans 3:22-24

"The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." ESV

The same saving grace that comes from faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ is the same for every person who believes. We are all sinners in need of God's grace to rescue us. All sin will be punished the same. All who believe in Christ will receive the same grace. The rescue for us is free. It cost God a very great price, His only Son.

Heavenly Father, we humble ourselves before You as we accept the free gift of eternal life through Your grace, by our faith. Help us to recognize that every one who believes receives exactly the same grace, and that we have no more of Your grace than anyone else. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

DOUBLE THE TROUBLE

James 1:8

"He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." ESV

Who is a double-minded man. One who doubts, isn't quite sure, hasn't made up his mind yet. There are many people, even Christians, who live their lives on a daily basis and allow the circumstances they are in and around them to determine how they think, feel, and act. As it says in James 1:6, they are like waves thrown in every direction by the wind. Committed Christians know the voice of God, the Word of God, the Spirit of God. In all situations, they know God has a plan, He is in control, and He will never forsake us. This describes a single-minded man. One who is stable, sure, and calm.

Heavenly Father, how we need to stop and examine ourselves. Please reveal to us if we are double-minded and by Your grace, help us to become stable, sure, and at peace with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WALKING THROUGH FIRE AND WATER

Isaiah 43:2

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." ESV

The Word tells us over and over that God will never leave us nor forsake us. When we go through overwhelming waves of suffering and tragic circumstances that make us want to give up, God is with us and will go through it all with us. Be comforted by that no matter where you are or what you are experiencing.

Heavenly Father, the forces that come against us in this world seems too much for us at times. Help us to remember we are not walking alone and that the battle is Yours. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

DECISIONS DECISIONS DECISIONS

Psalm 32:8

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you." ESV

At times we are at a crossroad. Sometimes there are several different ways we could go. Which one do we choose? What if we make the wrong decision? We become confused, stressed, and unable to make a decision at all. When we look to our Lord and trust Him only, He will let us know which way to go. He doesn't play guessing games with us. Ask for discernment, wisdom, and open hearts. He will surely answer us when it is time.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for fretting when we have difficult and important choices to make. Forgive us for not fully trusting in You to provide us with the instructions we need. Give us open hearts and willing spirits to listen and obey. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

FITNESS ULTIMATE

1 Timothy 4:8

"For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come." ESV

To be concerned about one's physical health is beneficial for living here in this life. To be concerned about one's spiritual life is beneficial for this life and crucial for eternal life. Take care of the body, God's temple, but our spiritual life is the number one priority in our lives with God.

Heavenly Father, we confess that we have not done our best to take care of our physical bodies, much less our spiritual lives. Forgive us for such neglect. Give us hunger for healthy spiritual lives which will result in our taking care of our physical bodies. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

WHO'S THE PHONY?

Isaiah 29:13

"And the Lord said: Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men." ESV

The Lord is well acquainted with our hearts. He notices when anyone goes through the motions, gathers with believers, and speaks praises, but there is an absence of worship from the heart and a true righteous hunger for the things of God. Some even fail to realize they are engaging in empty worship. The great deception lies in the belief that tradition, outward actions, and church rules equal true worship. Some have simply become lazy and complacent, letting their spirits grow cold.

Heavenly Father, we have been guilty of insincere worship and humbly ask You for forgiveness. Give us that first love, that hunger and zeal to seek You and worship You with a true and contrite heart. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
