FULL STEAM AHEAD

Romans 12:11 "Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord." ESV

As Christians, we don't have any lack of work to do, nor do we have time to waste. There is an enormous harvest waiting and so few who are willing to work. We cannot allow ourselves to become lazy, complacent, or distracted. Let's find ourselves fervently going about our Father's business.

Heavenly Father, we can only maintain our spiritual fervor by your grace and mercy. Help us Lord to stay fervent and focused on the work at hand as we walk minute by minute toward Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.

ZEALOUS

Titus 2:14

". . .who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works." NIV

". . .who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." KJV

How would we respond to someone who pulled us from a burning vehicle seconds before it blew up, engulfed in flames? Would we simply and nonchalantly thank this person and go on our way? Would we offer money in payment for this heroic deed? Or would we be so grateful to this person that we would be eager, zealous to show our gratitude in some meaningful way? Jesus Christ not only saved us from eternal death, but He sacrificed His own life for ours. How much more zealous should we be in serving Him and doing the works He did when He was here on earth?

Heavenly Father, forgive us for becoming complacent in our Christian walk. Get us to the place where our hearts are stirred and the fires of our faith are reaching for the heavens. Let our works be zealous and reflect the gratitude we have for the sacrifice Christ made for us at the cross. In His name we pray, Amen.

SPIRITUAL FERVOR

As Christians, we do not have a lack of work to do or a lot of time to
waste. With the enormous harvest waiting, so few who are willing
to work, and so little time, we cannot allow ourselves to be lazy, or
complacent, or distracted by the things of this world. We are to be
fervently going about our Father's business.

Heavenly Father, we can only maintain our spiritual fervor by your
grace and mercy. Help us Lord to stay fervent and focused on the
work at hand that is set before us. In Jesus' name.

Read Romans 12:11

"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the
Lord." (NIV)

"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord." (KJV)
