BEAUTIFUL PRISON TRANSFER

 

Psalm 37:5,6

 

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday." ESV 

 

Commitment has become a word that very few people of today truly understand. Originally, commitment is defined as: mittimus - a written order of a court directing that a person be imprisoned. Is this what committing ourselves to the Lord means? Yes! We freely become prisoners of His. This sounds like we are giving up all our freedom, but actually we are set free from the prison of sin, and become imprisoned with freedom to live in boundless love and grace, serving the Lord. Would we see living with a clean conscience, peace, and joy as something equal to being confined in a small prison cell. Of course not! As prisoners of the Lord, we are free to say no to sin, that once held us in that small prison cell, and we are under the loving protection and everlasting peace of our Lord.

 

Heavenly Father, we ask for Your forgiveness when we lack trust to fully commit our ways to You. Give us assurance and courage to know that committing our ways to You will bring such freedom to us we will rejoice for eternity. In Jesus' name, Amen.

HOLEY BUCKETS

 

Haggai 1:5,6

 

"Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes." ESV

 

The Lord gives us so many opportunities to be aware of our intentions and to examine ourselves. If we don't have a true, humble commitment to the Lord, the things we do for Him will be like putting water into a bucket full of holes. If we pat ourselves on the back when we do something good, that pat on the back is our reward. If we are dedicated to the Lord, what we do for Him is just second nature.

 

Heavenly Father, help us each day to examine our intentions, to be totally committed to You. Keep our hearts pure and humble in Your sight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

HIS EYES ARE ON YOU

There is nothing that escapes the eyes of God. He is intently
watching, scanning, and knowing all things whether open, or
tucked away in the remotest of places. When His eyes behold
a righteous soul, one with honorable intent to please Him, God
will strengthen that one by His mighty power and love.

Read 2 Chronicles 16:9

For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen
those whose hearts are fully committed to him." (NIV)

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth,
to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect
toward him." (KJV)

If we give ourselves over to the Lord, He will make us into new creatures
from the broken pieces of our old lives. But if we insist on being masters
of our own lives, His judgment will crush and destroy us. Remember, these
are the only two available choices: give ourselves totally to Him or being
masters of our own lives.

Read Luke 20:18

"Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom
it falls will be crushed." (NIV)

"Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever
it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." (KJV)
