WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?

Acts 26:16

"But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to your for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you." ESV

Purpose. Don't we all want to know what our own specific purpose is for being in this world? This discovery seldom occurs like it did for the Apostle Paul, a sudden, dramatic encounter with Christ telling us exactly what our purpose is. But we can take what Christ said to Paul and make it our own. Our purpose is to live and speak of the things He has already put in our hearts and be ready to do the same with those things He is going to show us. That is our purpose. How we do it will vary because we all have different life circumstances and Godly gifts.

Heavenly Father, we are humbled at the way we continue to seek Your purpose for our lives when Your Word clearly tells us. Increase our faith so that we will be prepared at any given moment to tell of Christ the wonderful things You have done in our lives. Give us discernment and understanding to see what You are going to do. We accept the commission of the purpose You have for our lives. We have nothing else to offer but ourselves. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

NO RECALLS ON THIS

Romans 11:29

"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." ESV

God has given each one of us gifts and a calling to His service. Regardless if we fail to use our gifts, or we slack off from using them, or we just let time go by without nurturing them, God never takes them away from us, never takes them back. We will give an account for how we have used our gifts and calling. And it's never too late to start using them or to rekindle them.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for being so lazy and disrespectful to the precious gifts and the heavenly calling to Your service. By the convicting power of Your Holy Spirit, stir our hearts to use the gifts You have given us, so that You will be glorified. We pray earnestly in the name of Jesus, Amen.

THE HOPE WHICH HE HAS PLANNED FOR US

Ephesians 1:18

"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people." NIV

"The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints." KJV

How do the eyes of our hearts get enlightened? God tells us in His Word that if we ask believing, He will give us that which we ask for. If we sincerely pray for eyes of understanding, God will not only remove the veil that keeps us from seeing His mighty deeds, but He will show us the magnificence of the eternal future He has made for those of us who love Him and live according to His Word.

Heavenly Father, we praise You and magnify Your name for the wonderful gift of grace You have given so that we will live and reign with You in your glorious presence and the richness of You eternal love. Give us eyes of understanding so that we will stay on the path of righteousness and know this wonderful future You have for us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
