Corinthians 13:12
"For now we see in a
mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know
fully, even as I am fully known." ESV
Believing we are spiritually
enlightened and learned in the Word of God makes us feel quite satisfied. The
truth is, we actually have only a poorly reflected knowledge of God and His
Truth. Sin has cause our spiritual eyes to be defective. Let's be of good cheer.
The day is coming when our spiritual eyes will look on Him and we will know Him
fully, as fully as He knows us. That will be more than feeling satisfied. It
will make us complete.
Heavenly Father, forgive us for
becoming proud of our spiritual knowledge and our familiarity with the Word.
Help us to remember that we are so limited in our ability to see the whole
Truth. May we look forward to that day when we will know You fully. We pray in
the name of Jesus, Amen.
