James 1:14

"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed." KJV
God will never tempt us to sin, nor will He place us in a situation in which we have no choice but to sin. On the same note, the devil will never make us sin. Remember! We always have a choice. The reason we get caught up in a sin and end up convicted by the Holy Spirit is because we have gotten distracted by something ungodly that appeals to us, we toy with the idea, we rationalize the act, and we choose to engage in what we have convinced ourselves to be a harmless sin. If we are willing to face this truth, truly remorseful and repentant, God will forgive us. If we are prepared for these episodes of temptation, we will be able to resist and give God the glory.
Heavenly Father, we pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare us for the fiery darts that Satan sends at us every day. We pray that we will be ready so that we will not be drawn to the things that are displeasing to you and we will not give in to them. Fill us with the Holy Spirit so that we will walk in the Spirit and keep our hearts and minds pure, not being drawn away where we will be weak. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
