NOT WORDS BUT ACTIONS


1 John 3:18


"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and truth." NIV


"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." KJV


Words can sound convincing but be as hollow as a dead tree. We do not show real love by merely talking about it and speaking of love with eloquent words. Love is made real in actions and sincerity of those actions. Sometimes an act of love can be hollow when we have personal reasons for doing it. It is the genuine sincerity of the heart in an act of love that confirms we have true Godly love.


Heavenly Father, just as you proved your great love to us by your genuine willingness to give your life for our sins, we ask for your grace to do acts of love with genuine love and giving of ourselves. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen
