NOT ONE GOOD PERSON

Romans 3:12

"All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." NIV

"They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." KJV

It is very humbling to know our God looked at all of mankind and could not find one person who was good. All of us are in the same boat. We all fail and exalt ourselves at one time or another. Left to our own ways of living as we think are right, we will be found in the sludge pile of human degradation. The Gospel presents us with the way out of of this doomed mess and with the assurance of eternal life.

Heavenly Father, how humbling it is to know that no one is good enough, we all fall far short of the righteousness needed to dwell with you. We can never repay you for the sacrifice you made by sending your Son to cover our worthlessness and render us worthy to be called your children. Help us to always live in that humbleness, that it is not our righteousness but His that makes us worthy. In Jesus' name, Amen.

It is so hard for us humans to be humble, isn't it? But that one theme keeps coming back to us as we read the bible. We are nothing at all without Him---nothing. Thanks, Dr Bobbi.

When we live for ourself by our own power, we forget God. We must break down the bad in order to allow God to build up what is pure and for his glory. When we finally do that, it is a win-win situation for all of us.

God Bless!
Following from Spiritual Sunday,

Throughout history, God has always given what we need to be "good enough" even to the death of His only Son. Beautiful thoughts you've written.

So true, Dr. Bobbi. It is not our righteousness but His that makes us worthy.
