TEMPTATION

Watch that you don't become overly confident in your ability
to rise above temptation. We are never above the reach of
temptation and the possibility of a fall. It is human nature to
be faced with temptation and to look for ways to justify our
giving in to it. All of us are tempted in one way or another.
The Lord will never allow us to get to a place in the face of
temptation that we have no choice but to sin. There is no
excuse like, "I couldn't help it" "That's just the way I am."
He always provides a way out.

Heavenly Father, how thankful we are that we have an
advocate, Jesus Christ, who prays and intercedes for us
when we are tempted. Please help us to take the way out
You always provide for us so that we do not sin against
you. In Jesus' name.

Read 1 Corinthians 10:12,13

"So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that
you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except
what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not
let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when
you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that
you can stand up under it." (NIV)

"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed
lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such
as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not
suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will
with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye
ay be able to bear it." (KJV)

My friend used to say that she could overcome just about anything except temptation. Thank heaven for Jesus, our advocate!

This is a good think to ponder and reflect on. There are certain things we just know will tempt us, but occasionally things pop up that catch us off guard. Jesus is there to help us resist the enemy's pull.
