THE FIG TREE

 
Luke 21:29,30


"He told them this parable: Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near." NIV


"And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand." KJV


The fig tree will sprout its leaves as summer approaches. More sure than that, God keeps all His promises and His Word never fails. He is coming back! Know it! Be alert! Be prepared! If we live our lives now with this in mind we won't get distracted by the problems and the ways of this world. And we won't misinterpret the times and seasons God has set in motion.


Heavenly Father, we praise You for giving us signs on earth that let us know the new season is approaching. We praise You for giving us Your Word that lets us know signs of Your approaching return. Give us diligence to be ready because we see the signs everywhere. In Jesus' name, Amen.
